Mon May 03 02:00:00 EDT 2003 - System Upgrade

There was a six minute maintenance outage from 2:07AM - 2:13AM EDT while security patches were applied and the system was restarted.

Mon Apr 21 07:00:00 EDT 2003 - MySQL Updated

The MySQL database software was upgraded at 6AM EDT. Please report any problems.

Wed Oct 16 03:00:00 EST 2002 - Scheduled Network Maintenance

Outage Date: Wednesday, October 16 (early AM)
Outage Period: 3:00 AM EST - 6:00 AM EST
Outage Duration: Approximately 10 minutes

Our network provider has scheduled a performance and security update for their Cisco equipment. Network downtime is expected to be approximately 10 minutes while the switch software is reloaded and tested. Vice Tap servers will not be rebooted but may briefly become unavailable.

Sat Feb 23 09:35:42 PST 2002 - Network Outage

As of 12:34PM EST, service has been restored. A newsletter is being sent regarding our ongoing service strategy, to reduce the chances of this type of outage occurring.

Sat Feb 23 06:07:13 PST 2002 - Network Outage

We are currently waiting on Qwest to address this network outage. A trouble ticket has been open since last night. Traffic which normally goes through Newark is not getting past New York City.

Mon Apr 21 03:45:50 PDT 2003 - Network Outage

The network connection has been down since 6:35PM EST. At this point it appears to be a problem on the Qwest network backbone.

Service was restored at approximately 1:35PM EDT.

As of 9:15 EDT we are still waiting for network connectivity to be restored. There is a four-hour service contract with Cisco so we do expect service to be back up sometime this morning.

As of 6:32 EDT we are waiting for a router to be replaced at the colo site.

Thu Feb 7 19:36:48 PST 2002 - Network Outage

A network connection to the host site is down, Verizon has been contacted.

Multiple systems are down at the colo site, possibly a hub or power problem. We are investigating.


Fri Jan 25 10:25:04 PST 2002 - Maintenance Outage Delayed

As you may have realized, the previously planned outage did not occur. It was not possible for the provider to complete all data center activity within the specified time period, so we will receive a new maintenance plan soon. There will be approximately 24 hours notice.

Thu Jan 24 01:01:33 PST 2002 - Maintenance Outage Planned

On Thursday Jan 24, the server will go down for a period of time (up to 2 hours) sometime between 9 AM & 9PM EST. Large scale power maintenance is planned in the data center. The exact time the outage will occur is not known at this time. Watch this page for updates as soon as they become available.

Mon Jan 21 14:40:21 PST 2002 - Network Service Restored

The network hub was replaced and service has been restored. Total downtime was approximately 30 minutes.

Mon Jan 21 14:10:29 PST 2002 - Network Outage Report

A network hub has failed and is being replaced right now. Service should be restored within the hour. Email notices will be sent if it appears the outage will continue past 3pm PST / 6pm EST.

Thu Dec 27 20:03:16 EST 2001 - Service Restored

After replacing additional network hardware components in the primary server, as well as the server itself, service has been restored.
We have determined that the previous hardware platform, while very fast, is not sufficiently stable. We will be migrating to a new dual-CPU configuration in the near future. You will be notified in advance of any planned outages. The interim solution in place now should be more than sufficient to handle the current system load.

Following hardware replacement, more problems have surfaced in the network hardware. This is being reconfigured now. Working on a new ETA.

The outage is due to a hardware problem. Technicians are replacing the failed components, then we will attempt to bring the system back up.

A network outage may be required for maintenance purposes during the weekend of December 15-16.
An addtional DS3 is being installed to our primary data center. This will improve our already blazingly fast network access rates.

The Vice Tap servers are currently experiencing intermittent packet loss and network latency, which may result in slower connect and download times or timeouts.
Investigation is in progress and we will update you as soon as the problem is resolved, or as soon as more information is available.
